Journey Night Lighting | Et Cetera

fx
Journey-Caravan Side
journey led light
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 29, 2011 –
This is not the best of all possible pictures, but it illustrates what I wanted to convey. The interior LED lights in a Journey are beautiful. The paint on the outside the rear door is bright silver, which doesn’t show up at night. It contrasts with the white LED lights inside the car. The white LED light lights up the whole interior of the car, front and back.
There’s a LED light under the front door, which lights the area outside the driver’s door. There isn’t one under the rear door, but I suppose there is one under the passenger door. The light from the driver’s door does light up the area outside the rear door.
While I was out taking the picture, I looked at some of the other screen information. The temperature of the coolant is displayed. The temperature of the motor oil is displayed. The temperature of the transmission fluid is displayed, and that’s all I looked at.
We are scheduled to have the “remote start” feature installed on January 3rd. We could have had it installed before the 25th, but we decided to wait, and I’m glad we did. Our son is here from Scottsdale, Arizona, and we wanted to have our car available. He’s going back to Arizona on Saturday December 31, 2011.

Marlee and Ethan

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 29, 2011 –
Marlee is my granddaughter.
Love requires:
  1. Physical attraction
  2. Sharing
  3. Tolerance
  4. Trust
Mary Ruth and I have been married 58 years. There was and is physical attraction.
I have always wanted to do well economically and socially. My goals were to share those things with Mary Ruth.
Tolerance was important in our lives. We certainly have had challenges. Tolerance was absolutely necessary to overcome those challenges.
Finally, on the matter of trust, I want to say this: As our lives evolved, we reached a point where it became necessary for Mary Ruth to have general power of attorney. She had the power to buy and sell, anything. She controlled all assets. She was free to leave at any time.

MSNBC | Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Others

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 28 –
Chris Matthews has done a complete about face.  He has turned from praise for President Obama to criticizing President Obama.
President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act 2011-2012, which may lead to marshal law and indefinite detention of citizens without trial. Rachel Maddow Video
One of the callers on this Jonathon Turley video says, “I voted for Obama, but I’m not sure I can back him”.
So, we have Newsvine banning liberals like The Jones Girl.
Is MSNBC liberal? If criticism of President Obama is the litmus test, no.

I’m Applying For A Job | I Want to be Your Home Schooler

fx

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 27 –
The greatest threat to the United States, as we have known it, is President Obama. He is not a conservative capitalist. He is capable of declaring marshal law. He has been instrumental in destroying liberty in the United States, and he has signed a law, which denies the right to a trial.
If marshal law is declared, there will be no constitutional rights. There will be no legal requirements for an election in 2012.
The question that remains is: If, and when, he will make a move, and how the citizens will react.
If President Obama declares marshal law prior to the 2012 election, how will you react? Will you join the side of the citizens, or will you support the side of the government?
I’m adding a few additional words, because I’m applying for a job as an examiner. So, not only do I want to be your home schooler, I want to be your examiner.

Newsvine Seed | Upon Release of Martial Law Documents, The Plan For America's Destruction Becomes Apparent

fx
barbara striesand
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania   December 26, 2011
The seeder of this article on Newsvine appears to be a liberal. I recognize many of her friends as liberals. Apparently liberals are realizing that their own President, Democrats, US government, et cetera are not their friends, but that their goal is in fact to harm liberals. Otherwise, why would she seed this article?
An Obama supporter is heard in a video saying in effect, I voted for Obama, but I’m not sure I can back him. It’s no longer liberals against everyone, it’s government against citizens. The liberals are caught in a trap. The trap is: Their own liberals have turned, and are turning on the liberals as citizens.
The day will come when the traitors in Washington, led by President Obama, will issue orders to the military and police to fire on Americans and enforce Martial Law. At that point, even the most blind and ignorant people will probably come to the obvious conclusion that it is not Al-Qaeda who desires the destruction of America, but the hijacked and treasonous U.S. government.
Their own liberals are engaging in a plot to use military force to detain citizens indefinitely without trial.
My sense is that the momentum to declare marshal law is accelerating.
Your attention is needed.

Handel’s Messiah

k

The Savior is Born

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 25 –
The boundaries of the universe have not been found. We are in infinite space.

Christy Sandhoff originally shared this post:

(My comments on the info below. You can argue, debate, philosophize, etc. all you want. But the bottom line is this.... you either believe or you don't.....you either have faith or you don't....if the Atheist is right the Christian has lost nothing living their life in faith, but if the Christian is right the Atheist has lost everything.)
A surprising ending.... this is absolutely worth the read!
"Let me explain the problem science has with religion." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.
"You're a Christian, aren't you, son?"
"Yes sir," the student says
"So you believe in God?"
"Absolutely."
"Is God good?"
"Sure! God's good."
"Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?"
"Yes."
"Are you good or evil?"
"The Bible says I'm evil.
The professor grins knowingly. "Aha! The Bible! He considers for a moment. "Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here, and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?"
"Yes sir, I would."
"So you're good...!"
"I wouldn't say that."
"But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't."
The student does not answer, so the professor continues. "He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Can you answer that one?"
The student remains silent. "No, you can't, can you?" the professor says.
He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax. "Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?"
"Er..yes," the student says.
"Is Satan good?"
The student doesn't hesitate on this one. "No."
"Then where does Satan come from?"
The student falters. "From God."
"That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?"
"Yes, sir..."
"Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything, correct?"
"Yes."
"So who created evil?" The professor continued, "If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil."
Again, the student has no answer. "Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things, do they exist in this world?"
The student squirms on his feet. "Yes."
"So who created them?"
The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his question. "Who created them?" There is still no answer.
Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class is mesmerized. "Tell me," he continues onto another student. "Do you believe in Jesus Christ, son?"
The student's voice betrays him and cracks. "Yes, professor, I do."
The old man stops pacing. "Science says you have five senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen Jesus?"
"No sir. I've never seen Him."
"Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?"
"No, sir, I have not..."
"Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelt your Jesus? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus Christ, or God for that matter?"
"No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't."
"Yet you still believe in him?"
"Yes."
"According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your God doesn't exist... What do you say to that, son?"
"Nothing," the student replies... "I only have my faith."
"Yes, faith," the professor repeats. "And that is the problem science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith."
The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a question of his own. "Professor, is there such thing as heat?"
"Yes."
"And is there such a thing as cold?"
"Yes, son, there's cold too."
"No sir, there isn't."
The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested. The room suddenly becomes very quiet. The student begins to explain. "You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called 'cold.' We can hit down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that.
"There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it."
Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a hammer.
"What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as darkness?"
"Yes," the professor replies without hesitation. "What is night if it isn't darkness?"
"You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?"
The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him. This will be a good semester. "So what point are you making, young man?"
"Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed."
The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time. "Flawed? Can you explain how?"
"You are working on the premise of duality," the student explains. "You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood, either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.
"Now tell me, professor... Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?"
"If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do."
"Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?"
The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.
"Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?"
The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided. "To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean." The student looks around the room. "Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?" The class breaks out into laughter. "Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir. So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?"
Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the student, his face unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. "I guess you'll have to take them on faith."
"Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life," the student continues. "Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?" Now uncertain, the professor responds, "Of course, there is. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
"The professor sat down.
The student was Albert Einstein who wrote a book titled God vs. Science in 1921. [1]
[1] I tried to find the book. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist.
I sang Handel’s Messiah in a choir at a Concordia High School event in Fort Wayne, Indiana. There were several adolescent boys, whose voices had not changed, in that choir. I was one of them. Concordia was a boarding school, and I lived in a dormitory.

Remote Start

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 22 –
We bought a new Dodge Journey a couple weeks ago, and I made arrangements to have a remote start feature installed on it. I wanted to surprise my wife with a Christmas present. The saleslady, Amanda, made arrangements to have the parts ordered, and she advised me yesterday that the parts were here, ready to be installed. I told my wife about the whole thing last night, and told her that we would have to take the car in today to have the remote start feature installed. She was a little shocked, and seemed concerned about how much it was going to cost.
I’m hoping the cost will be in the $500 range, but will just have to wait and see what happens.
My wife did say a few days ago, that she wished we had a remote start for the car.
I hope that she will be pleased with her Christmas present. I normally don’t buy presents for her, because she would rather buy her own stuff, and over the years, she has been right. I bought several coats, some jewelry, and other things, which she really didn’t like too much.
Hopefully this time will be the charm.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I Don’t Have to Define Marxism | To Write About Marxist President Obama

fx

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 19 –
I have been asked numerous times to define what I believe Marxism is. I have not complied, because what I believe Marxism is, is immaterial. Everyone knows what Cuba is. If you want a definition of Communism, there it is; Cuba.

I have said the President Obama is a Marxist. What I have said about President Obama is not false. President Obama told Joe the plumber, I want to spread the wealth around. Spreading the wealth around is also called redistribution of wealth. Tax the rich is redistribution of wealth. Take from the rich, tax the upper 1%.

That’s wealth redistribution. Chou Chou, my dear friend, made a comment, which presents the flip side of wealth redistribution:
chouchou
Anthony #3.9
On the note of equality:
History has shown that equality of results is completely impractical. The only thing that equality of results has accomplished where it has been implemented is to spread poverty and famine. It has never raised the living standards of those it claimed to benefit, but has only lowered them. As has been noted by many ' capitalism is the uneven distribution of wealth, and socialism the even distribution of poverty.
In sum, egalitarianism, concept of Marx, the holy grail of socialism, leads to mediocrity.
"Conservatives divide the world in terms of good and evil while liberals do it in terms of the rich and poor.” ---Dennis Prager.
Wealth redistribution is a major tenet of Marxism. There is no unequal distribution of wealth in Cuba.
President Obama appointed Van Jones as a czar. Van Jones is the poster child of the even distribution of poverty. Van Jones is a friend and supporter of Occupy Wall Street. President Obama is on a friendly basis with Van Jones to this day.
President Obama recently stated, “Families like yours, young people like the ones here today — including the ones who were just chanting at me — [1] you’re the reason that I ran for office in the first place.” Occupy Wall Street opposes unequal distribution of wealth. Occupy Wall street supports “spreading the wealth around”. President Obama supports “spreading the wealth around”.
These are relatively recent examples of President Obama’s Marxism.
President Obama has displayed his affinity to Marxism for decades. He taught an Alinsky workshop for several years in the 1980’s. Alinsky was a closet Communist.
Money was distributed to “community causes under President Obama’s watch at Chicago organizations in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
President Obama put this into print: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I choose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists,” Obama in his book “Dreams from my Father”.”

President Obama may have to allow the pipeline, even though he isn't interested in creating jobs. He's only interested in "green" failures, like Solyndra, which only represent one third of the potential electricity market. A Harvard graduate is too dim to figure that out. We need gas, coal, nuclear, et cetera, power production, but President Obama can't figure that out.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 15 –
I received derogatory comments, when I first published this image by Gene Tew. President Obama’s request for detention of citizens without a trial gives the image validity.

Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) on Senate floor explaining it was Obama who requested the provision for indefinite military detention of American citizens without charge or trial.
Why Obama Will Not Veto NDAA Military Detention of Americans: He Requested It.
President Obama signed the bill on Friday.
What are the possible acts of President Obama in the future? He has demonstrated that he espouses tyranny instead of freedom.
I read a little about Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and his book: The Gulag Archipelago.
The Soviet Union had widespread labor camps. Atrocities occurred in those camps.
Communism is portrayed as a Utopia. The labor camps are a fixture of Communism, China has them, North Korea has them. Body parts are acquired from inmates of labor camps in China. These are some of the realities of Utopia.
Is President Obama capable of trying to implement Communism in the United States? Think about it; long and hard.
If you like Communism, reconsider.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 15 –
I searched for keywords: Obama American Airlines…but there wasn’t much information available. So, I concluded that President Obama is not seizing on this bankruptcy as an opportunity. I did see something about a bailout, which alarmed me.
President Obama is not following the AIG, GM, and Chrysler template, which intrigues me. Why do you think that is?

Here we have a union situation available to be exploited. Wouldn’t the American Airlines bankruptcy be an opportunity to get union voter’s votes nationwide? Isn’t this the way President Obama normally operates?
The usual President Obama and company method of operation would be to bail the company out. Wipe out investors in American Airlines. Badmouth the company executives. Put people in charge of the airline, who are Democrat campaign operatives, and have never run a business in their life. Funnel bailout money to President Obama’s 2012 campaign coffers. See if ACORN has some affiliates, who can assist in ridiculing the enemies of President Obama. Van Jones and OWS could get involved, and make it a class warfare thing: Unions versus Capitalists. Finally, American Airlines could become Obama Airlines.
Wouldn’t that be priceless!
Our country could continue to decline, with airlines being taken over by the public sector. In addition to government sponsored enterprises, student loans, auto companies, et cetera, we could have government screwed up airlines. This would fit in well with the screwed up Transportation Security Agency. We could have a screwed up government airline, with screwed up TSA employees.
Soros would be ecstatic!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 14 –
The unbelievable is taking place before our very eyes. This is not a partisan report; it is a report from MSNBC. MSNBC, the home of Chris Matthews, and formerly Keith Olberman. This is not from Fox News.
This is not from Rush Limbaugh.
President Obama justifies FEMA imprisonment of civilians!
vol seeded this video early this AM, but there aren’t many comments on her seed. I just became aware of it fifteen minutes ago. Maybe the word will get out as an article, better than it did as a seed. I’m hoping that there are many articles about this speech by President Obama.
I’m wondering what judicial watch, oath keepers, et cetera, are thinking about this. I may try to find out directly, meaning emailing and phone calls.
I just turned on Rush Limbaugh, and he is talking about President Obama’s Fort Bragg speech. I searched Fox News for related news…a link to this MSNBC video came up. I looked at the Drudge Report, and I didn’t see anything there.
In spite of the risk of being overlooked, I’m going to post the article.

My Time at Walmart: Why We Need Serious Welfare Reform – The College Conservative

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 14 –
There is a cozy relationship between the government and so called welfare recipients.
This patriotic young lady has reported the inside information.
If the United States government had any regard for decency, honesty, and law and order, it would not sanction what is happening in this country. If the government would take care of the little stuff, maybe the big stuff would be corrected too. It’s no wonder our country is going down the tubes.
I’m going to send her an email to congratulate her, and encourage her. I will also tell her about what little publicity I have been able to provide.
I recall that Washington state had a huge increase in food stamp distribution. My impression was: The government wore the news as a badge of honor, and was pleased. My friends this is not the way things are supposed to be.
Cloward and Piven are famous for their idea that the government can be caused to implode from the weight of excessive demands for welfare, et cetera.
The bottom line is: There are too many thieves in this country. President Obama is one of them. Thievery will help destroy the United States.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – December 12 –
We picked up our new Dodge Journey, which was filled with surprises. It is an electronic miracle! It is keyless and the controls are electronic. The first thing we had to do was learn how to start it. It was necessary to have the fob [1] on your person, step on the brake pedal, and then hit the start button. When the start button is pushed, the starter doesn’t engage immediately. There’s a slight pause, and all of a sudden, the motor is running. When you walk up to the car with the fob in your pocket, you can open the door. If you don’t have the fob, it won’t open.
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I can see how there could be big problems. I looked in the owner's manual to try to find out how to open the liftgate, and I had to do a search on the computer to find out how to do it.
I wanted to preset a station on the radio, and it looked like "go" should be clicked to do it. Well, "go" was a dead link, and when I clicked on "radio" it locked the station in.
I was just doing normal things, and the "warning" turn signals came on. After half an hour, I found out that there are two screens, and I was using the wrong one, to do that.
I’ll never like the center console, but I’ll tolerate it.
It has seventeen inch aluminum wheels.
My bother priced a 2010 Journey, and it was more than my brand new one!

President Obama's Osawatomie Speech was a Marxist Attack on America

fx

Rush doesn’t tell me what to believe. I do it my way.
I listened to President Obama’s entire speech in Osawatomie, Kansas, and it was filled with Marxism and Marxist ideas. The audience was exuberant. I didn’t hear a single boo. There were dissenting noises in President Obama’s speech about Occupy Wall Street being the reason he ran for office. I wonder whether the two different reactions were consequential or by design.
Basically, President Obama said that our traditional capitalism has been a failure, and that he, in his infinite wisdom, knows how to transform it. I kept thinking: This is the person, who gave us Solyndra, shut down Chrysler and General Motors, screwed investors, promotes unions, wants government control of private health care insurers, put student loans in the public sector,  has been visited by Andy Stern 53 times, Occupy Wall Street is the reason he ran for office, and last but not least; is recorded on video saying that he wants to transform America.

Wavesofgrain Comment On: Dead Movement Walking: Top Ten New Media Moments That Brought Down #OccupyWallStreet

k

Diane Ryker

OWS is way more popular than the Tea Party
There were no Tea Party member arrests with the peaceful rallies of the Tea Party. Those with peaceful agendas wishing the government exercise fiscal responsibility is not news. Violence and public riots are news, and therefore newsworthy. This fact, therefore, as Wolf stated, aided in the public forming negative opinions concerning the OWS. It shows that we spent 200 years creating a civil society, only to see a leader, in less that three years, tear it down, promoting behavior similar to third world countries in solving problems.
With lightning speed, photographs and videos told the story the MSM attempted to cover up….
It has been blatantly obvious the mainstream media is being bought by the left...most likely the NGO Soros covers. (that are banned in other countries due to the result of collapsing their economies). The Tides Foundation is even funding Google now!!! Obama has even pampered Facebook...they've hired a Democrat to help with government Facebook intervention. Our info is no longer safe there. They were quite underhandedly clever to infest these medias, using them to brainwash those in society that don't research facts farther than the liberal bibles. Fact Check, Snopes, Media Matters...you name it...you will find an Obama/Soros connection.
But many of the populace has researched other sites to find facts hidden from the left sources. And they are shared and spread like wildfire. How else would we not find that the OWS is merely an army of the left to provide distractions for the recent wrongdoings by the government?
Easily obtainable contradictory facts from the internet is one reason Obama gave powers to the FCC to try to regulate the internet. (look at his "tattletale" sites he set up) And Obamacare support is not the only reason he chose Kagan for the courts. He liked her views on limiting free speech, and government control. It is events like the OWS fiascos, links to other news sources, that are revealed through the internet. And Obama wants to control this.

Net Neutrality
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/21/fcc-poised-pass-network-neutrality-rules/
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/21/business/media/21fcc.html
…and all of this was generated by We The People.
This president has already nationalized banks, student loans, auto factories and health care. He now has let unelected officials make decisions concerning our internet, against the will of the people. This act is the beginning of government control of our internet, almost dictatorial. The Senate defeated a resolution to overturn it in November, with Obama threatening a Veto if it passed. He has also retained power to shut off our internet at will without congressional approval. Obama does not like the internet freedom, as it is exposing so many of the facts, as the OWS origination, he has strived to keep from the public. Our ability and freedom to exchange information through the internet may become restricted the longer the left remains in office.
Diane has granted permission to publish her comment. Thank you Diane!

The chanting and the content of that chanting was a turn off.
Occupy’s most important narrative went up in smoke, and suddenly all the other pieces came together: the criminality, cult-like chanting, anti-Americanism, Marxism, anti-Semitism, sexual depravity and overall stench suddenly made perfect sense. This wasn’t some spontaneous movement generated by youthful idealism. This was the left, and this is who the left is.
This article clearly states that President Obama was a supporter of this group. I’ll add that Soros, Democrats, et cetera, hitched their wagon to the Occupy Wall Street star. Now, they all have egg on their face. Axelrod, Gibbs, and Carney’s work is cut out for them, if they are going to try to save President Obama’s face!
By the hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands, citizen journalists took everything listed above (and more) and then went around the corrupt MSM in order to let the word go forth. While the mainstream media told their lies and half-truths and chose whatever context would fit their pro-Occupy narrative, within seconds, real truths were emailed, posted on Facebook pages and blogs, tweeted and re-tweeted. With lightning speed, photographs and videos told the story the MSM attempted to cover up…. …and all of this was generated by We The People.
The Bolsheviks operated in the neighborhood of seventy years, before communism was ended in the Soviet Union. Occupy Wall Street’s Utopia didn’t even get off the ground, compared to the Bolsheviks.

Fund Raising in New York at Tree Lighting

Draw your own conclusions:

Oh, what a night. Everybody knows that driving in Manhattan is a form of insanity, but getting behind the wheel Wednesday night was a recipe for disaster -- and massive gridlock. President Obama came to Midtown about the same time that hundreds of people were gathering at Rockefeller Center for the annual lighting of the 30,000 bulbs on the mammoth Christmas tree -- and as thousands of New Yorkers were trying to get home from work. If that wasn’t enough, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber and octogenarian-hipster Tony Bennett were among the pre-taped headliners for the tree lighting ceremony. In other words --aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! The president went to not one, not two, but three fundraisers in Manhattan, collecting donations in the East Village, on the Upper East Side and in Midtown. The streets along the president's path were lined with uniformed New York Police Department officers and shut down by blue barricades when he was nearby. Those blue barricades also lined the area near Rockefeller Center to direct the crowds. But the barriers didn't stop tourists who don’t know how to cross a New York street — look both ways and run — from walking in front of some cars and infuriating local drivers. Mostly drivers just gritted their teeth. "When Obama is in town, you get ready to get stuck in traffic," Ray Morales, 57, of the Bronx told the New York Daily News. "It's a nightmare." Even before he came to town, Obama was criticized from the usual quarters for his timing. The conservative New York Post editorialized that “with just a little less arrogance, and a little more consideration, on the part of the president and his political team, the whole mess could have been avoided.” Donald Trump, appearing on Fox Business Network, said it was “very inconsiderate” of the president to come during the Christmas-tree lighting. Of course, New York is traditionally a Democratic town, and Obama won here by a wide margin. What are New Yorkers going to do -- not vote for him next time around because they arrived home four hours late one night?

Would you like a presidential fund raiser near your home on the day before Christmas?

Sally, Newsvine moderator, has a seed posted about athletes drinking pickle juice.

Pickle juice helps athletes stay hydrated, according to a new study.
I went to a boarding school in high school and the school nurse provided a mixture of whiskey, lemon, and honey for sore throats. My granddaughter is a registered nurse, and she said that honey is good for sore throats.
Last year I had a bad experience with a nyquil like product. It made me sicker. I’m guessing that the pain reliever was responsible.
At any rate, here’s the recipe for honey, whiskey, and lemon, home remedy.
Sore Throat
4 oz 120 ml water
1 ½ oz 45 ml whiskey
¾ oz 22 ml honey
1 slice lemon
